Hengrove Park Artist Workshop

News

It was an absolute pleasure attending a workshop with Bristol City Council, a local artist called Shaun Sepr and thirty very creative school children at the Perry Court E-Act Academy at Bristol.

Part of our project at Hengrove Park has involved removing existing rocks and sand from the area, to deliver a fully inclusive and accessible water play facility. As Hengrove Park is on a slope, the levelling out of the area to make ready for a splash pad, also required a new wall to be built.

This offered Bristol City Council the opportunity to invite local artist Shaun and thirty school children to a workshop, whereby they could create and share ideas for a water-based mural on the wall.

Imaginations ran wild and the drawings that came out of the workshop were wonderful. The children’s water-based drawings included a splash pad sign, fish, octopus, jellyfish, whales, starfish, turtles, boats, crabs, lobsters, sharks and more!

We thank Perry Court E-Act Academy for enabling the workshop with thirty of their art-loving pupils; it was a truly inspirational day that delivered a burst of amazing creativity! We thank Bristol City Council for our collaborative project and their fabulous mural initiative, and we look forward to seeing the masterpiece!
